First Aid Training

First Aid Training – HLTAID003 Provide First Aid. If you are the designated “First Aider” in your work-place, then this is the course for you.
Course Content : You will learn the skills a “First-Aider” should possess and the limitations you should be aware of and can be held at our training centre or your location.
A list of topics and skills covered in this Nationally Accredited and (ARC) Australian Resuscitation Council compliant, comprehensive course is detailed:
  • The basic ethics and theory involved in first aid practice.
  • The measures need to be taken to effectively deal with issues concerning major or minor injury and illness.
  • The most important management steps that need to be undertaken when dealing with potentially critical health conditions.
  • The Basic Health and safety knowledge required when dealing with the condition of first aid situations.
  • The principles, procedures and standard precautions needed to be undertaken to control infection and its spread.
  • You will master the knowledge of ‘Chain of Survival’.
  • How and when an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) should be used.
  • You will learn the first aid management of Injuries: Cold and crush injuries, eye and ear injuries, head, neck and spinal injuries; minor skin injuries; needle stick injuries; Burns and how to treat it successfully; soft tissue injuries including sprains, strains and dislocations.
  • Envenomation: From a snake, spider, insect and marine bites/stings.
  • Medical conditions: Such as cardiac conditions, epilepsy, diabetes, asthma, and other respiratory conditions.
  • Substance Misuse: High intake of common drugs and alcohol, including illicit drugs.
  • Other Conditions: Allergic reactions, bleeding, chest pain, choking/airway obstruction, fractures, near drowning, and much, much, more!!!
Course Duration: This course runs over one day.

HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
This is a nationally recognised course where we learn to save lives, by providing CPR and keeping the casualty alive and breathing, whilst waiting for the arrival of Paramedics.

Upon completion of the course, you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment to certify that you have been trained, and shown competence, in the provision of CPR to HLTAID001 standard.

This competency based training reflects the skills and knowledge required to:
  • Provide CPR life support
  • Management of a casualty
  • Management of an incident and other First-Aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
The CPR certificate is valid for 12 months (1 year). This is in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

Duration : This course runs over three hours.
Course Cost: $50.00 per person Limit of 25 participants (subject to special arrangement)

HLTAID004 – Provide an emergency Response in an Education and Care Setting. This Nationally Accredited course includes training in first aid relating to Asthma and Anaphylaxis emergencies, plus all the elements of the HLTAID003 course.

The course consists of the following compliant and Nationally Accredited courses.
  • HLTAID004 | Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting
  • Upon completion of the course, you will be totally compliant with “ACECQA” guidelines – (Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority), and be able to work in a school or child care setting.
Course Duration : This course runs over one day.
Course Cost: $160.00 per person
